I was trained in theoretical physics and now work in systems and theoretical biology at the interface of ecosystem modeling and metabolic scaling theory. I previously studied scaling laws in biology, that is, how biological rates and times vary with body size and body temperature. I connected metabolic scaling with developmental time, population growth rates, mortality rates, and sleep times. I am currently building upon that work to investigate determinants of ecosystem dynamics, genome size, cell size, and aging.
